Eyelash Extension Primer, Why Do I Need It?
Creating a longer-lasting eyelash extension is not easy, but it is achievable with a good eyelash extension primer. But how does the lash primer work and how do you use it?
Here are all the details about the lash extension primer and how to use them to help your lash work effectively!
How does lash extension primer work?
We all know the better bond between the lashes is the KEY to the longer-lasting lash extension.
Lash primer helps in achieving faster attachment time and by dissolving any natural oil or makeup residue on natural lashes as well as balancing pH level or natural lashes: resulting in a better bond between the extensions and natural lashes and longer retention.
What are the key benefits of using a lash primer?
- Less slippery lashes mean faster attachment
- Reduced application time means faster client turnover
- Remove oil, skincare, makeup means better bonding, longer retention
- Especially effective on the lash clients with oily skin
This unique solution primes the natural lashes' cuticle so you can achieve stronger adhesion and faster attachment.
What if I don't use a lash extension primer?
What will happen is, if you attach lash extensions on these not-so-clean natural lashes, the glue will stick to those oil or dirt particles instead of the surface of natural lashes! Sadly, this will shorten the retention of your beautiful lash work quite dramatically.
What is a lash extension primer made of?
These are the main ingredients we believe every lash primer should have:
First, Dimethyl Ketone. Commonly known as acetone, and they do some pretty amazing stuff. It acts as an astringent in removing oil and dirt from the surface.
Second, Poly Ethanol is commonly known as alcohol. Even though it only contains a small amount in every primer, it can wash away all the dirt and oil, helping you prep for the perfect foundation to begin your work. For sensitive clients, they can help soothe reactions too.
Last but not least, the good old H20, water.
How to use a lash extension primer?
- First, remove any make-up with oil-free make-up remover or lash cleanser and water.
- Apply a small amount of eyelash extension primer on two disposable microfibre brushes for eyelash extensions.
- Place one brush beneath the lashes, and the other on top.
- Gently glide the lash extension primer up the eyelashes, cleansing each lash thoroughly.
- Lashes should be completely dry before applying eyelash extensions.
What to watch out when using a primer?
When one of the main ingredients, poly ethanol, touches the skin, it may dry the surface of the skin and give a slight burning sensation.
So use proper application steps like suggested above and make sure Lash Primer doesn't directly contact your client's skin.
